Home Comfort's 4th of July Entertaining Tips

Independence day is right around the corner, and you've invited guests! Home Comfort has plenty of great ideas to make your home look fabulous when your guests arrive. Stop by our store in Center Harbor, NH to see all the cute summertime accessories, and to chat with a designer. For those of you who can't make it in, here are some quick tips to make your home welcoming and inviting this 4th of July!

This year, try using red, white and blue in new, unexpected ways to create an American summer soiree. Instead of buying cheesy disposable supplies from your party store, take a look around your home for unexpected party decor! For example, use red, white, and blue handkerchiefs as a table runner.  Or, cover your table with a solid red tablecloth (perhaps you have one for Christmas) and use accents of blue and white flowers, glassware, or dishes to add patriotic charm.

Party Favors

Offer sparklers or snap poppers for your guests to celebrate with, by wrapping the small boxes with twine (no paper, unless it's their birthday). For a barbecue, set the favors in a wicker basket near the buffet. For dinners, add a name tag and use as a placeholder!

Sun Supplies Station

With the harsh summer heat and intense rays of the sun in full effect, it's important your Fourth of July guests remain protected from the sun. Keep outdoor essentials nearby with a supply station stylishly stocked with rolled towels, sunblock and ice-cold water. Use an old wash tub for a classic country look!

Use your favorite red, white, and blue flowers with a classic miniature American flag as centerpieces. We like Red Roses, White Alstroemeria, and Blue Lobelia. Use mini-flags in exterior plantings to add some festive color to your garden or hanging plants also!
